In 2012, America has an important decision to make. The upcoming presidential election will shape our future.
We must all get involved to make sure that the issues we care about are front and center: good jobs, collective bargaining, retirement security and health care. Together we can ensure that the voices of CWA members and working people everywhere are heard.

Newt Gingrich

Stance on Retirement Security

Supports voluntary Social Security privatization for younger Americans and would a privatized version of Medicare.

“We must therefore consider a voluntary option for younger Americans to put a portion of their Social Security contributions into personal Social Security savings accounts.”
My proposed legislation will offer seniors new choices in Medicare… It will give them the option to choose, on a voluntary basis, either to remain on the existing program, or to transition to a more personalized system in the private sector.”

Stance on Health Care

Would repeal Obamacare, enact tort reform, and change how Medicaid dollars are granted to states.

“Sign the repeal of ObamaCare…Sign Tort reform for doctors…Sign a new Hyde Amendment, so no tax payer money funds abortion in the United States…Sign a new Conservative Budget Act…Sign a tenth amendment implementation act returning power from Washington to the states and to the people thereof. And that act should include -- to prove how real it is -- block-granting Medicaid,”

Stance on Money in Politics

Would allow anyone to give unlimited amounts of after-tax money, but with greater disclosure.

“I do think this ruling makes it easier for, you know, pro free enterprise conservatives who are critical of government to acquire the resources…”
